Conditions We Treat

Migraine & Headaches

Understanding the condition

Migraine is more than a headache — throbbing one-sided pain, nausea, sensitivity to light and sound, sometimes visual aura, often lasting hours to days. Chronic tension headaches, cervicogenic headaches, and mixed patterns are equally disruptive. Painkillers abort the episode; they do not reduce how often the next one comes.

Common presentations

  • One-sided throbbing pain with nausea or vomiting
  • Sensitivity to light, sound, or smells during episodes
  • Headaches linked to sun, sleep loss, hunger, or menses
  • Neck stiffness preceding head pain
  • Increasing reliance on painkillers

The classical homeopathic approach

Homeopathy is well suited to migraine because prescribing is built on exactly what makes your headache yours: the side, the character of pain, the triggers, the accompaniments, what relieves it. The constitutional remedy aims to lengthen the gap between episodes and soften their intensity, while acute remedies help manage attacks as they come.

Commonly indicated remedies

These are a few of the remedies frequently considered in Migraine & Headaches cases, with their classic indications from the homeopathic materia medica:

  • Belladonna — Sudden, violent, throbbing headache with flushed hot face; worse light, noise, and jarring; better firm pressure.
  • Glonoinum — Bursting, congestive headache with pulsations felt through the skull; worse sun exposure and heat.
  • Natrum muriaticum — Hammering headaches from sun or eyestrain, often in reserved patients; worse mid-morning onward.
  • Sanguinaria — Right-sided migraine starting at the back of the head and settling over the right eye; better sleep and vomiting.
  • Spigelia — Left-sided neuralgic headache over the eye, stitching and radiating; worse motion, noise, and touch.
  • Iris versicolor — Periodic 'weekend' migraines with visual blurring or aura and sour vomiting; often with acidity.

Important: these are examples for education, not a menu to choose from. In classical homeopathy the right remedy — and its potency and dose — depends on your complete individual case, which is exactly what the consultation determines. Please do not self-prescribe.

What treatment looks like at the clinic

A headache diary is usually advised for the first weeks — it sharpens both the prescription and the measurement of progress. Trigger patterns around sleep, screen time, and meals are addressed alongside.

Every case begins with a detailed first consultation — unhurried by design, because the depth of case-taking is what makes the prescription precise. Follow-ups then track your response and refine the treatment as you improve.
